A Past Life Poem
In the house by the heather woods,
thatched and curled in ivy and rose vine. The shallow grass before her oval door serves to soften my approach, for I would not startle her. But the moment I have longed for now upon me, I am clumsy in my step and the weakness of my knees betrays me, for such has my heart returned from o'er seas and barren lands of fog and rocky desert, only to find Love ..was always here. Come then, come out to greet me, garden where my heart lays soft beside you. Behold a breeze moves about me Like a hint of Love upon the air. So my heart quickens and my breath tapers thin, as petals and ivy leaves twirl at thy emerging, in this the moment, of love come home to love. james francis |
